	Why do debt collectors fear the truth? Because if everybody understood what happens when you pay them they woud never collect a crying dime. They will never give a receipt for any money you pay them and that is because the money they get cannot be easily traced or tracked and it is much easier for them to steal from their clients, turn the debt over to another collection agency who will attempt to collect from you again even though you paid the debt already. They also will be less likely to get caught at their thievery. But that is why most states have licensing laws in place to help protect the creditors who trusted them to collect the money. Debt collectors will never take it off your credit reports either. Makes no difference whether you pay them or not. So never pay a debt collector thinking that is going to help your credit ratings. While it might give you a very small boost because your debt to income ratio will be improved that won't overcome the negative effect of having debt collector skunk spray all over your credit reports.
